第367回 筑後川花火大会

The 367th Chikugo River Fireworks Festival

 

1650年(慶安3年)の水天宮落成祝賀を始まりとし、360年以上の歴史を持つ久留米市の花火大会。

西日本でも屈指の規模を誇るこの大会では、約1万2000発の花火が夏の夜空を華やかに彩る。

観覧会場は京町、篠山、小森野、長門石、みやき、鳥栖の6カ所。

花火は京町と篠山の両会場の対岸より打ち上げられる。

来場者は打ち上げ場所に近い複数のエリアから、迫力ある花火を楽しむことができる。

花火大会はYouTubeでのライブ配信も行う予定だ。

 

This fireworks festival in Kurume City has a history spanning over 360 years, dating back to 1650 (Keian 3), when it was first held to celebrate the completion of Suitengu Shrine.

Boasting one of the largest scales in Western Japan, this festival features approximately 12,000 fireworks that brilliantly illuminate the summer night sky.

There are six viewing areas: Kyomachi, Sasayama, Komorino, Nagatoishi, Miyaki, and Tosu.

The fireworks are launched from the opposite banks of the river at the Kyomachi and Sasayama venues.

Visitors can enjoy the spectacular fireworks from multiple areas close to the launch sites.

The fireworks festival is also scheduled to be livestreamed on YouTube.

約1万2000発が次々に夜空を染め、筑後川の水面に反射する光と音の競演は、この花火大会の大きな魅力のひとつ。打ち上げ地点が2カ所あるため、各会場から異なる角度で楽しめる。

Approximately 12,000 fireworks light up the night sky one after another, and the symphony of light and sound reflecting off the surface of the Chikugo River is one of the festival’s major attractions. With two launch sites, visitors can enjoy the display from different angles at each viewing location.
